I had a victory of sorts last night. I’ve been struggling with getting a number of ActionScript features to work in my Animation assignment: countdown timers, drag-drop-snap-stay, reset to start point, plus a few others. Well last night I stumbled on to yet another very simple looking “how to create a countdown timer with ActionScript 3” tutorial, and thought it was at least worth a shot.
It worked!!! Shock horror, it actually worked like it was supposed to and without any major fighting or arguing with it either! And, I was able to adapt it and modify it so that it worked as I need it to for my game.
So, in the interests of fair credit, if you need a simple Countdown Timer for Flash ActionScript 3.0 that will work first time – check it out here.
